Trump doubles Canada metal tariffs, Ontario backs down

US President Donald Trump has threatened to double his planned tariffs on steel and aluminium from 25 per cent to 50 per cent for Canada, a retaliation that prompted the provincial government of Ontario to back down on its planned surcharges on electricity sold to the United States.
