Russia stock market to shut for third week

Foreign sanctions have forced many stores in Russia as well as the country's stock market to close. -EPA

The Moscow stock exchange is not expected to open next week, the third week in a row it has remained shuttered due to the sanctions piled on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine.

There will be no trading from Monday through Friday, the bourse reported, in comments carried by TASS.

There has been no trading since February 25, the day after the invasion started.

The market lost significant value that day before trading was shut down.
