Officials in the northern Sumy region said that Russia launched a missile strike on "critical infrastructure facilities" in the city of Shostka.
City mayor Mykola Noha specified that "two heating facilities" had been destroyed and called on residents to use electricity sparingly and stock up on water.

Russian air defence systems overnight destroyed eight drones over the country's Belgorod region and over the Black Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.

The Ukrainian military was observing Russian troop reinforcements in northeastern Ukraine, with new units stationed in Hlubokoye in the Kharkiv region, Nazar Voloshin, spokesman of the Ukrainian troops defending the area, reported on Sunday.
Among others, a strike force from the Russian Pacific Fleet's naval infantry and parts of a rifle division have been brought into the region, Voloshin said.
The Russian military had begun a larger operation aimed at Kharkiv at the beginning of May.
