The positive news was shared at the Deniliquin Local Health Advisory Committee’s February meeting this week.
The new appointments include a new nursing unit manager for Middleton Gorman Wing, as well as a new nurse practitioner for the emergency department.
“We have also welcomed some additional nurses, an occupational therapist and a dietitian,” Ms Pavese advised.
“An additional transitional rural generalist nurse practitioner has also been allocated to our cluster, which will be a great support to the emergency departments in this area.”
Monday’s meeting was the first of the new year for Deni LHAC, which included the AGM and election of the executive committee.
Lynda Barclay continues in the role of chair for a second year.
Louise Mace has stepped into the vice chair’s position, with Lourene Liebenberg taking up the position of communications officer.

Mrs Barclay thanked the committee for their support in 2024, and for their efforts in improving health outcomes for our community.
“We are looking forward to another productive year, with our annual planning session for 2025 projects scheduled for March 18.
“At this meeting, we review current health data for the Edward River Council area, and state priorities around health.
“We also reassess our past projects and identify our focus areas for the coming year.”
Mrs Barclay said the health banners project from 2024 is expected to continue throughout 2025.
Talks suited to the 12 health topics featured on the banners are also expected to continue.
