Committee members will represent customers and advise on various initiatives, including G-MW’s pricing submission, service improvements, drought and climate action responses.
G-MW managing director Charmaine Quick encouraged people to submit their applications, which close on Sunday, February 23.
“The customer committees are an excellent opportunity for G-MW customers who are eager to help shape the future of the water industry in our region,” Ms Quick said.
“Our customer base is diverse, and we want the committees to reflect the different backgrounds, skills, customer types, locations and sizes within it.
“If someone is interested and has a genuine desire to support us in providing water for a thriving northern Victoria, then there is a high chance they will be a good fit for one of the committees.”
The customer committees will replace G-MW’s current water service committees.
They have been designed with the help of water service committee members to reflect the changing state of northern Victoria’s water industry.
They will have a strategic focus, be collaborative, and offer a manageable time commitment for members.
“The water service committees have provided a vital link between G-MW and its customers for many years,” Ms Quick said.
“Their input into developing the customer committees has been invaluable, and we’re confident the new committees will strengthen our customer engagement and input.”
The new committees will be:
- G-MW GMID (Goulburn Murray Irrigation District) Customer Committee – East.
- G-MW GMID Customer Committee – Central.
- G-MW GMID Customer Committee – West.
- G-MW Diversions Customer Committee.
- G-MW Pumped Districts Customer Committee.
- G-MW Water Districts Customer Committee.
- G-MW Loch Garry Customer Committee (to be established after Loch Garry Future Service Strategy is completed).
