As at 5pm, just over 500 people attending for testing at GV Health co-ordinated sites.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp urged people to still come forward for testing if they had been to a high-risk location or location of concern linked to Shepparton's COVID-19 cluster.
This comes after Mr Sharp warned today it could be 24 to 48 hours before there would be a clear indication of where Greater Shepparton was placed in the fight against COVID-19.
He also thanked people for responding and working with the local health service throughout the week.
"I wish to thank members of the community for coming forward to be tested and for your patience on Wednesday when we experienced delays at our sites," he said.
"The testing process on Thursday and today has been better with greatly reduced waiting times.
"I would also like to thank the many different organisations and services that have supported GV Health and the community in recent days – your assistance is greatly appreciated."
Anyone who is unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell) and who attended these locations on these dates and times should get tested immediately and stay at home until you receive the result.
The testing sites open over the weekend include:
- Acute Respiratory Clinic at Graham Street, Shepparton is open from 8am to 5.30pm. People who have symptoms are encouraged to this location.
- The McIntosh Centre at Shepparton Showgrounds corner of Thompson Street and High Street from 10am to 3pm. People who do not have symptoms are encouraged to this location.
