Residents of Shepparton who feel unwell are being urged to get tested for COVID-19 after three positive cases linked to the Chadstone outbreak were confirmed on Tuesday.
The Greater Shepparton cluster was sparked by the same man who travelled from metropolitan Melbourne and spread the virus to Kilmore, health authorities have announced.
The three active cases are currently self-isolating at home and Goulburn Valley Health is undertaking contact tracing.
"This is an evolving outbreak and further information will be provided as soon as it becomes possible," GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said.
Victoria’s Commander of Testing and Community Engagement Jeroen Weimar said he expects more cases will be discovered as contact tracing continues.
"To everyone locally - even if you haven't been near these locations - if you feel unwell at all, please get tested as soon as possible and stay at home until you get your results,” Mr Weimar said.
“If you need additional support to stay home, there are financial payments available to assist those who need it.
"We're asking everyone in the local community - and any Victorian who has loved ones in Shepparton - to share this message."
