Competing in events across their age group, as well as in Open age group events, the local swimmers have shown excellent results, which saw several club records challenged and broken.
Presentation night held on Wednesday, March 5 celebrated the results from across the Club Championships, and brings the summer season to a close, highlighting all the hard work across the past 5 months.
Fletcher Davies was awarded the Significant Achievement Award after exceptional results in this year’s State Sprint Championships, finishing in the top 10 of his age group within the state in both Breaststroke and Freestyle.
Alex Bridgeman was awarded this year’s Most Determined, having shown great dedication across the season, and fantastic results across meets attended over the Summer.
Lara Angwin was awarded the 7-year service award, which recognises the longevity and commitment of a swimmer within the club, which is an amazing achievement.
Jack Bourke, Jacob Halili, Ella Knight and Dakota Robinson were each awarded with this year’s coaches award by each of their coaches for their performance in practice, as well as during competition.
As the season comes to a close, the club acknowledge the hard work and dedication that each of the swimmers have put into their swimming across the season.
The club have seen fantastic results from the junior squad who have trained and developed their technique, all the way through to advanced swimmers who have regularly training and competed across the season.
Several swimmers have competed at State level at different events, all who should be very proud of their performance.
The club thank coaches Lyndon, Kevin, Jocelyn, Hugh and Georgina for their time and dedication given to swimmers across the season, and for the organisation that happens behind the scenes.
Along with the committee who work tirelessly across the season, and to the parents for the support given to their swimmers, as well as who assist with tasks both on club nights and at meets.
The swimming club have 20 qualified swimmers competing in Melbourne at the upcoming All Juniors competition which we look forward to reporting in the coming weeks.
