You know you’re on a special one when you have onlookers scouring the record books in real time during any game.
So was the case for Central Park-St Brendans veteran Jarrod Wakeling, who took an opportunity with both hands at the emphatic expense of Cricket Shepparton Haisman Shield newcomers Pine Lodge at Central Park Recreation Reserve Saturday.
Having already posted the highest score in some time to come out of the yellow and black outfit on day one of this round six contest, guided largely by the mesmerising efforts of Connor Hayes, the Tigers were perfectly comfortable.
They sure weren’t content with just comfortable, though.

Pine Lodge import Emile Haratbar continued to hit his stride on an individual note, tragically finding himself a run shy of raising the bat on a dark afternoon for his side courtesy of Ramadan Yze, but every other highlight belonged to the home side.
Wakeling scooped five poles in a first innings which yielded just 92 for the visitors, before putting the follow-on right on his own back in search of that outright with all eight wickets of the second stanza at a strong economy of 2.50.
All told, his almost unbelievable 13-wicket display involved dismissing no fewer than three batsman twice each on Saturday, individually dismissing each and every Lodger other than skipper Travis Waters - who faced one ball in at 11 during the first innings.
Almost secondary to this spectacle was the scoreboard itself, which left Central Park two more breakthroughs shy of extra points but with a more than memorable victory in the bag.

Jarrod Wakeling (Central Park-St Brendans): Let’s cut to the chase: this is a display that won’t soon be forgotten in the annuls of Cricket Shepparton folklore. Total figures of 13-75 from 30 dizzying overs would be virtually certain to go down as the finest effort you’ll see anywhere with the ball this season.
Hayes, who himself had very few worries on his plate during day two after his own Herculean feat, enjoyed his front-row seat to the action.
“The plan was always that we could only worry about the first innings first,” Hayes said.
“We had to work hard for that first wicket today, but once we got a bit of a roll on, ‘Wakes’ had us in a good spot.
“To get them out just before tea helped our plans to try and push for an outright.
“We had the plan to go out there and take it at that point, but I don’t think we can be too disappointed in the way we bowled; I’m sure the boys are proud of the effort and mindset they took into it.
“One of the boys said he’d just missed the club record of 14. I don’t remember him bowling one bad ball, so he really carried us through that second innings.”
While the time to celebrate a truly remarkable feat is upon the Tigers, so too will be Karramomus before long.
The same Karramomus, that is, which put upwards of 200 on the reigning premiers just a week ago.
“Bowling has been our real strength for the year, and I believe we’re heading to Deakin for the first time,” Hayes said.
“I’m not sure if we’ll know much about what the pitch is like, but our bowlers have done the job and been damaging every game, so hopefully, we can keep that form going.”
