It is the launch of a new mental health campaign, for which the club has received $30,000 in funding.
There will be a four person ambrose event, designed for players of all abilities. Entry is free, but donations can be made to Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group. There will also be a free sausage sizzle lunch, prizes and raffle. Book online or in the pro shop.
This Sunday is the men’s/mixed Scramble. It is also four person ambrose with noon shotgun start. Winners get the opportunity to progress through the rounds, potentially to the national final.
Entries are open for the 2022 Spring Classic, a fourball best ball stableford event on the weekend of September 17 and 18.
All these events are part of a busy schedule on the course in coming weeks.
Over the past week we have had the Keno two-person ambrose qualifying rounds.
On Thursday the ladies played their qualifier, won by Felicity McCalman and Kerran Leetham with 65, from Vicki Brunker and Prue Lloyd 66.75.
Saturday was the men’s Keno qualifier and winners were Noel Swainger and Jarryd Pearce with 62.75, from runners-up Ross Taylor and Tom Bult 63.
The mixed Keno qualifier was played on Sunday and won easily by Andrew Brunker and Sarah Lugsdin 59, from Alan and Jan Lord 64.75.
Thomas Bult continued his good form on Wednesday when he won the men’s A-grade stableford event with 34 points, on countback to Ken Wemyss.
Scores were higher in B-grade, won by Bob Landy 39, from Hugh Sutton 37.
Tomorrow is the Francis Kelly and Grant Men’s Monthly Medal, with The Scramble on Sunday.
On Monday and Tuesday the ladies will host their Double Date In Deni tournament.
It will be four ball best ball on Monday, and the Mary Bradshaw Bowl stableford event on Tuesday.
Don’t forget the Blind Footy Tipping dinner on Friday September 16 from 6pm.
Friday Night Fun continues tonight with meals available and the usual raffles.
Tickets will be on sale from 6pm with draws at 7.30, and happy hour is from 6pm.
