Blighty Football Netball Club has received a significant boost with the announcement of new coaching appointments for their reserves' football team.

Johnny Mitchell and Chris Hovenden will join forces as dual coaches to lead the Blighty reserves footy team in 2025, bringing a collaborative approach to the role.

The announcement, shared on the club's Facebook page last Thursday, was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from supporters and players alike.

This positive reception comes as no surprise, given Mitchell and Hovenden's respected standing within the club and their reputation as beloved figures in the Blighty community.

“Both Chris and John are eager to take on the role for the season.

“They have both shown strong commitment to the club over the years, assisting in all duties on and off the field.

“We look forward to seeing them make positive impact with the Reserves team” the club posted on their Facebook.

Last season the reserves side were able to get two wins in the Picola League’s reserves competition, both coming against Yarroweah, who have since gone into recess.
