The Cats’ top-order bat did it all in the decider against Central Park-St Brendan’s on Wednesday as his side skipped away to a 36-run victory.
Boyle registered a sublime half-century and picked up 1-5 and a run-out in the field.
With his side sent in to bat, the opener reached 53 runs as his side posted 3-141.
But he wasn’t alone in leading the Cats over the line, with teammate Joel May adding a touch of class with the bat.
May crafted an unbeaten 59 from 45 deliveries and turned heads late in Mooroopna’s innings with the bat.
The duo combined for an impressive 100-run partnership.
Mooroopna captain Josh Preston was full of praise for his side’s standout performers.
“It was set up perfectly with Paul (McDonald) and Brad at the top and then Joel came in and batted beautifully,” he said.
“Joel and Brad put on almost 100 which was fantastic and really set us up.
“They gave us a good total to defend.”
Central Park-St Brendan’s captain Andrew McMillan (30 runs) got his side off to the perfect start but it was Preston who sent McMillan’s opening teammate, Michael Dann, back to the sheds with the score on 24.
With McMillan and Keiran Hogeboom starting to steady things at the crease, in stepped Boyle.
The gun performer sent Hogeboom packing with a direct hit and that’s when the wickets began to flow.
A further five wickets fell for 25 runs which signalled the end of any successful run-chase.
Despite some late fireworks from Jack Hooper, the runs on the board proved too much for the Tigers.
“It’s always important (runs on the board) and creates the scoreboard pressure,” Preston said.
“Karramomus were able to do that to us last year. So to put a score like 140 on was huge.
“Our bowlers did a great job as a group and our fielding was unreal with three direct run-outs, and we held most of our catches.”
