Tocumwal completes sporting trifecta

The athletics win followed on from swimming and cross country victories earlier in the year.

TPS also won the Zone Handicap Shield.

While only one TPS student gained individual champions honours, it was the depth of talent that saw Tocumwal run out eventual winners.

Jack Watson was awarded joint Senior Boys Champion after a consistent effort across six events.

The PSSA Finley Zone Athletics carnival was organised this year by Finley Public School and attended by the nine schools in the zone.

TPS sports coordinator Beth Hatty was ecstatic with the achievement.

“TPS has been strong in swimming for many years but has tended to wax and wane with cross country and athletics, without being able to have them align in a single year with any regularity.

“We are very proud of the effort and manner in which our students competed” she said.
