While it was a pleasant 26°C in contrast to the heat of the previous Wednesday, there was a 35km breeze that kept the members cool.
The matches were competitively played out and results saw that matches needed to be played out to decide the winner.
Peppin Planners shaped up against Deniliquin Newsagency and had a strong win, 21 sets 146 games to Newsagency seven sets 101 games.
Peppin won big the week before and carried the form into the next round.
Five players for Peppin were three set winners, with captain Michael Williams leading from the front plus Jack Eastman, Nick Gatacre, Paul Links and Steph Calder.
There were some ups and downs along the way, with agronomist and team captain Miranda Rose matched against Booroorban local and Forestry NSW scientist Hilary Porter.
The ladies started off with a 6-1 win to Rose who was playing with the reliable Elyse Hood.
In their second round match, Porter was able to turn the tables and playing with Hope Semmler won 6-4.
A set each and a set to go, who would win?
The third set was mixed doubles, which saw Rose play with Nick Gatacre while Porter played with Nick Schultz.
It was a bit one-sided in the end, with Rose and Gatacre winning 6-1.
Legal Eagles played Mitre 10 in the other match.
Both teams had strong wins in round one, so it was a week to get an eye on the form for the comp.
Mitre 10 won 16 sets 118 games to the Eagles’ 10 sets 98 games.
The Eagles were well served by Jamie Howard and captain Pip Metcalfe, both three set winners for the losing team.
