The AGM saw some club people return to the committee, and some new people stepping in to replace long-standing committee members standing down from their roles.
Rovers’ president John Glowrey was re-elected for another year, now having spent five years in the role.
Club stalwarts Shannon Bulmer continues as treasurer while Daniel Mison and Olivia Wells are staying on as joint secretaries.
New to the committee this year are Josh Bode and Angela Conallin.
The AGM also saw several people moving on, including Shannon Martin stepping down from the Rovers committee but stepping up to the vice president role at the Picola & District Football & Netball League.
Troy Leetham is also stepping back, but both Martin and Leetham have left a huge mark on the club with all their hard work and after-hours efforts.
Craig McCulloch has also called time on his committee role.
McCulloch first became president in 2011, with current president Glowrey giving a special thanks to the guidance McCulloch provided him when he took over the role.
The most senior departure was that of Michael Fleming, who has stepped back after more than 40 years of involvement.
Fleming has been part of the Rovers’ committee since the 1980s.
In that time he served as president from 2005 to 2010 and vice president after that, among several other roles during his time.
The impact Fleming had at the club has been significant, with the club saying he will still likely be found around the club on game day.
Other committee roles are mostly unchanged, with Anthony Joss, Rebecca Flisher, Russell Walker, Nicole Bermingham, Tim Van Lieshout, Brendan Hope, Blake Norris, Mollie Leetham, Adam Bodey, and Natalie Sampson all continuing.
It’s a big year ahead for the Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club, who will host the PDFNL grand final in 2025.
