The Colbinabbin teen, who was taken in the Rookie Draft on November 26, was already known for his elite tank, taking out the 2km time trial at the Vic Country Combine with a sub-six-minute time.
The rookie breezed past reigning Giants time trial king Tim Taranto, who finished runner-up.
Taranto praised Hamilton’s efforts after the run on Tuesday.
“Cooper came out really hard and I tried to hold on with him, but he was way too quick for me today,” Taranto told GWS Giants Media.
“He helped me run really well though, so I was happy about that.”
