With injury and a sickness bug having visited the Berrigan squad during the week, it made a tough match even tougher.
An impressive performance by backline duo Zeke Carruthers and Aaron Burley helped slow the rush of goals from a formidable Waaia forward line.
Fraser Haintz, Angus Coldwell and Toby Dalgliesh continue to bring leadership and a community minded attitude to the rest of the player group, setting flawless examples for both juniors and new senior players.

Brothers Josh and Matt Everingham played their first game for the season and continued right where they left off. Their rapid pace and improving skills set them up for a bright future in the game.

The reserves were beaten by a very polished and fit Waaia, however the game was not without its standouts.

Niclas Renenberg, who is new to the Berrigan Football Club but also to the game of football, displayed some much-needed fitness and energy as he continues to improve each week.

A hard-fought game for the thirds saw the Saints victorious by 15 points.
Xavier Fox was awarded ‘best on’ with a complete display of all his footballing assets.
He was everywhere his team mates needed him to be and his choices were on point, displaying his football maturity.
Jeremy Packer played his best game so far. He is a great addition to this year’s thirds team, with elite leaping and marking skills as well as his thumping boot enabling him to capitalise on goals even from outside the 50m arc.
Charlie Baxter once again put in a ‘league best’ worthy effort as he continues to build towards senior football.
Charlie was assisted by Liam Brown who dug deep and applied unrelenting pressure all game helping the team to earn the well-deserved win.

The under-14s are 5-0 and sitting on top of the ladder - what an amazing start to the 2023 season.
This week the Cooper brothers - Logan and Harley - joined forces, fighting hungrily for the ball and consistently moving it forward towards the goal posts.
Jack Magill displayed his much-improved tackling skills, shutting down the opposition time and again enabling him to take possession of the ball and put the saints in a good scoring position.
Nick Arnold took advantage of the opportunities in the front line and snagged his first goal for the season which was well celebrated.
Austin Ware made sure the opposition felt his presence, applying unrelenting pressure, resulting in several turnovers of the ball.
