Five talents from the Northern Country Women’s League Youth Girls competition have been invited to the upcoming 2022 AFLW Draft Combine.
Shepparton United trio Cassidy Mailer, Keeley Skepper and Olivia Cicolini are joined by Shepparton Swans’ duo Tayissa and Madison Gray.
Mailer, Skepper and the Gray siblings hail from Benalla, while Cicolini is a Finley product.
The Murray Bushrangers quintet, and more than 100 players from across the country, will showcase their skills at this year’s combine.
This year’s event will again be state-based, with dates and locations yet to be announced.
The majority of the 106 players invited to the combine have already completed pre-season physical testing which will see invitees conduct a 2km time trial.
AFL talent ambassador Kevin Sheehan said he could not wait to witness the next crop of AFLW stars in action this weekend.
“We are very excited about the high level of talent within this group of future stars of the AFLW,” he said.
“The 2022 version of the NAB AFLW Draft Combine will be shorter than those held in previous years, however the on-field performance of this group of players over the past season has provided a great indication that they will have a huge impact on the NAB AFLW competition.”
