The club has welcomed a batch of new competitors this year, and is encouraging anyone and everyone to come along and give athletics a go, regardless of age or ability.
The club is also encouraging anyone with a disability to join up and take part in its multi-class events, which are adjusted to suit all needs.
The season is off to a great start, with a number of junior and senior records already broken.
People from the age of 12 and up are encouraged to join, with a huge variety of events on offer.
The club is offering throwing events including shot put, javelin, discus and hammer throw, track and jumping events including hurdles, triple jump and long jump, as well as races of all distances.
New records have been set in a variety of events, from under-14 female shot put, to the men’s open 100m.
The club is running a Christmas raffle with funds to go towards new track and field equipment needed around the club, specifically a wind gauge.
It is seeking donations of items or vouchers which will be drawn at the last round before Christmas on Sunday, December 19.
This week, the club will be hosting its annual ‘Big Dogg Pentathlon’ event on Friday, December 10, starting at 6pm.
Athletes will compete across five events, accumulating points depending on their performance, with the highest male and female points scorer in each age group awarded a medal.
