The women played a par round on Wednesday and the winner was Dale Stuart (18) with a score of 2-down. The extra competition was the best odd hole score and that went to Cindy Burnett with -1. The ball pool included Stuart and Shirley Wright with -4 on a countback from Burnett.

In the men’s stableford competition, the best score of the day was in B-grade with Jerry Bender (27) having a good score of 38 points to win on a countback from Jock Mundy. The A-grade winner was Ciaran Fountain (15) with 36 points on a countback from Greg Pell.
The nearest-the-pin on the fourth was Mark Fountain, the sixth stayed with the club, the 12th was won by Ciaran Fountain and on the 17th Bill Matthews was the closest.
A score of 36 points was needed to be in the ball pool and those went to Bender, Mundy, Ciaran Fountain, Phil Jarvis and Pell.
The nine-hole competition was won by Bill Brock (14) with a great score of 21 points.
The weather and the course were in perfect condition on Saturday for the final round of the club championships. All the men’s grades started out with at least two contenders as no-one had entered the final round with a significant lead, so there were some good tussles.
In the end, after a three-shot lead to start, Matt O’Sulllivan defended his club champion title with a score of 316, with Luke Rogan only one shot back on 317.
The A-grade net champion was Pell with 298 over Damien Humphrey two back on 300.
After recently moving to the area, Ciaran Fountain won the B-grade net champion for the first time with 306, four shots ahead of Bill Shaeffer-Steel. The C-grade net champion was also a first-time winner — Josh Beattie scored 324 to win with the next best Bill Keating on 330.
In the daily results on Saturday, the men were also competing for the November monthly medal. The winner of B-grade and the medal was Sean Boland with the top score of 87-16=71.
The A-grade winner was Mark Fountain with a score of 82-7=75 on a three-way countback from Humphrey and Mick Prorok. C-grade was won by Graham Kiper with 97-18=79. The nearest-the-pins went to Russell Peel on the fourth, Peter Sawyer on the sixth, Pell on the 12th and Gary Wright on the 17th.
The drive-and-pitch on the eighth was won by Dave Enrico and on the 15th it was Schaeffer-Steel. The ball pool went to those with net 74 or better and included Boland, Schaeffer-Steel, John Boruch and Wright.
The club champion for the women was Paula Britton, who claimed the prize for the first time with a score of 272, four shots clear of Di Byrne. The daily winner was Dale Stuart with a steady score of 91-18=73 and she also picked up the nearest-the-pin on the 17th. The ball pool went to Stuart and Britton with net 74 on a countback from Byrne.
This Friday, the social nine holes is stableford over holes one to nine. The men will have a change of pace next Saturday and play a two-person Ambrose off the red tees. The women will play a stableford event.
