Rochy went down to Echuca last weekend and the side’s woes continued in round three, losing all three rinks to Tongala in a 0-44 to 16-80 defeat at Rochester Bowls Club.
None of the three rinks showed much promise for Rochester, with skips Richard Feuk, Tim Quinlan and Leslie Walles all going down by double-digits in a composed team performance from Tonny.
Rochy has slipped to seventh on the table after a draw and two losses.
Division two
Rochy put in a better showing against Tonny in division two, snatching one rink in a narrow 14-60 to 2-54 loss.
Skip Graeme Chambers and his squad of Peter Stahl (lead), Allan Benson (second) and Ross Turner (third) earned points for Rochy in a 26-13 rink win, while Kevin Hall only missed out on doing the same by a single shot, going down 21-22 to Tonny skip Kelvin Walsh.
Division three
Elmore grabbed points against Mathoura, taking their tie 12-57 to 4-51.
Raymond Williams and his quartet were the heroes for Elmore, taking their rink 22-10 and doing enough to make up for narrow losses by their teammates across the green.
Rochester remains winless after a 2-63 to 24-69 defeat to Deniliquin.
David Murray grabbed two points for Rochy in his rink but Deni skips Thomas Todd and Mark Law were comfortable in theirs to earn Deniliquin overall honours.
Lockington couldn’t do enough to get by Deni RSL in a 14-66 to 2-54 result.
John Wilson helped his Deni team’s margin with a healthy 28-17 win, while John Fisher snatched the lone rink for Lockington 18-17.
Division four
Moama Steamers defeated Lockington 14-61 to 2-46 in division four action.
Neil Haines grabbed a win for Locky, 20-13, but the Steamers’ Mark Daly and Barry Barbary scored 24 shots each, winning the other two rinks and claiming victory for their side.
Division five
Moama also got by Lockington in division five, 14-45 to 0-31.
Skips Peggy Bell and Mark Parsons defeated Lockington counterparts Les Brereton and Denise Gilmore to secure maximum points for the Steamers.
Rochester forfeited its tie with Deniliquin, while Elmore was the beneficiary of a forfeit from Deni RSL.
Midweek
Moama got past Rochester 14-61 to 2-56.
Robyn Thomassen skipped her Steamers side to a strong 26-14 win over Rochy skip Brian Kinnane.
Marilyn Stephenson earned points for Moama in a closer contest, getting up 24-21.
Skip Rob Dennis scored the lone rink win for Rochester, taking it 21-11.
Division two
Echuca brought up a century against Rochester, demolishing the visitor 16-101 to 0-24 at Echuca Bowls Club.
All three rinks pulled their weight in the massive win with Echuca skips Pam Lewis, Malcolm Thorn and Trevor Nagorcka all scoring at least 32 shots.
Division three
It was a tight round in division three, with 11 shots the biggest overall margin of victory.
That came between Moama and Elmore, with the Steamers taking the match 12-40 to 2-19.
A drawn rink led to Lockington’s 13-40 to 1-35 victory over Deniliquin RSL.
Division four
Lockington sneaked by Rochester by a single shot, with Stephen Peter’s 21-13 win just enough to grab overall points 12-42 to 2-41
