English import Kieran O'Donnell netted a brace, while Anthony Corso, Toby Wane and captain Bill Puckett were also on the score sheet for Cobram.
Leading 2-0 at the break, three more goals in the second half secured Cobram’s second win of the new season.
Down back, the Roar kept their first clean sheet of 2023 as they held Myrtleford scoreless, with goalkeeper Tarkyn Hyde between the posts.
Cobram coach Vince Iannucci said he was pleased with his side’s defensive efforts, as well as the game overall.
“That clean sheet is good for us moving forward. We have worked really hard on our defensive structure and shape, especially in open play,” Iannucci said.
“Overall, it was a really good effort. I was happy with the performance on the weekend.”

O'Donnell netted Cobram’s opening goal of the game before adding a second later in the second half – his seventh goal in his past two games.
“It is good that Kieran got another couple, I think his confidence is now growing, he is starting to mesh with the team, which is good,” Iannucci said.
Following a 5-1 loss to start the season against Wangaratta, Iannucci said he had been pleased with the improvements the Roar had made in recent weeks.
“It was a much better effort this week. We were a bit more complete. Things are starting to come together, it was a much, much better effort,” he said.
“There are still a couple of things to work on, I am never going to be completely satisfied, but it was 100 per cent better than the week before and 1000 per cent better than the week before that.
“We are starting to come together as a unit. We are starting to understand the style of play that we want to implement, we went over that at training and it is starting to pay dividends.
“I am still a bit scarred from that first game and we will probably be scarred for the whole season. It is probably not a bad thing because I am thinking ‘how can we prevent that’.”

Sunday’s win means the Roar now sit in fourth spot on the Albury Wodonga Football Association division one men’s ladder, with two wins and one defeat so far this campaign.
Cobram will now take on Albury United on Saturday, April 1 at Jelbart Park West Ground in Albury, with kick-off at 7pm.
United is in seventh spot on the ladder, with two wins and a loss in 2023.
Moving forward this season, Iannucci said he was expecting a crop of young players to begin to make their mark on the team.
"It is not just the thirds and the reserves, it is right from the under-16s that are making their way up,“ he said.
“We have a lot of quality kids coming through and they are going to be an awesome bunch moving forward.”
