We survived COVID-19, then the club was last year hit with floods which had a significant impact on our financial position.
But in 2024 we are looking forward to a return to ‘normality’ on and off the course.
Excellent golfing weather is predicted over the next week, so there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy a social game to bring in the new year, or participate in one of the regular competitions.
Stableford events will be played tomorrow, Tuesday (9 holes), Wednesday and Thursday, with monthly medals next Saturday.
In results from the past week, there was only a small field for last Thursday’s stableford event won by Carol Hardman with 33 points on countback to Sue Butcher.
On Saturday the A-grade winner was Geoff King with 40 points from runner-up Matt Thomas 39; B-grade Colin Thompson 39 on countback to Peter O’Brien, and C-grade Bernard Schoeman 36 points from runner-up David Grant 34.
On Wednesday there was a big field for the medley stableford, and we welcomed lots of visitors.
A-grade winner was Grant Connolly 38 from runner-up Brian Bourke 36; B-grade Ben Irwin 38, runner-up Jarryd Pearce 37; in C-grade Oscar Marshall continued his improving form with 40 points, from runner-up Glen Warren 39, and in D-grade Barnes Fallaw had an impressive 45 from runner-up Jason Jennings 41.
The final Friday Night Fun for the year will be held tonight, with raffles and meals available.
Tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm.
