The format for all the games was match play stroke, with teams of six competing each time.
The team members were Archer Golding, Kobe Atkinson, Hunter Reid, Eden Thomson, Solomon Welch, Rhylee Chapman and Kayne Crompton.
Their first match as a team was at Finley last year in August 2024 when they played and defeated Corowa from the Murray region with three wins, two draws and a loss.
Kayne was instrumental in the team’s success, where he won his match to help the team to a very narrow win. Kayne did not play the later rounds due to a prior sporting commitment.
In October, the team competed at Gundagai against the highly fancied 2023 State Champions, the Catalina Club of Bateman’s Bay.
After finishing the day at three games all, it was up to the lowest handicapper from both teams to play the sudden death round. Archer, the captain, held his nerve to win the match.
In November, the team played a junior team from the Yass Golf Club at Thurgoona, narrowly winning the day by four matches to two.
Kobe performed a remarkable feat on the day, winning his match on the 11th hole with seven holes still to play.
The team then progressed to the State Finals at Newcastle on January 20 and 21, where they were narrowly beaten.
While unsuccessful, the team played impressive golf and were excellent ambassadors for both the RRGC and the WRGDA.
Rhylee had the honour of winning all five of the pennant matches she played over the tournament.
