Shepparton Swans’ Tiarna Steel was suspended for three weeks — on top of a one-week ban imposed by her club — following the A-grade fixture against Mooroopna on May 1.
Steel was suspended for disputing the decision of an umpire, abuse of an umpire, unsportsmanlike conduct, breaching the players’ code of conduct and using offensive language.
The netball hearing officer applied the highest individual penalty of the charges — rather than an accumulative penalty — after taking into account that it was Steel's first offence.
The Swans defender will be available for selection again in round 10.
An investigation officer has also been appointed to look into an incident in the GVL reserves football ranks from Saturday's round six action.
The incident falls under rule 5.2 — unbecoming conduct — in the AFL Victoria Country Handbook, and occurred in the match between Kyabram and Benalla at Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
An investigation is in progress following an incident in the Kyabram District League reserves match between Ardmona and Longwood in round five.
Meanwhile, Murchison-Toolamba's Luke Cecchin accepted a two-week set penalty for striking in his side's contest against Avenel.
In Murray Football League, Numurkah's Tim Arnel accepted a two-week set penalty for striking.
The round six clash against Deniliquin was Arnel's first appearance of the season for the Blues.
The first report of the Picola District Football League season was lodged at the weekend.
It was thrown out at the tribunal though, due to being lodged incorrectly.
