Expansion teams Urana and Rand have entered the competition, and Rand in particular have shown they will be competitive from the start defeating Finley by one shot.
Urana were a little stiff to grab the home team in their first match but managed to snag a point despite losing to Oaklands.
Berrigan defeated Jerilderie in the other match.

After round one, Oaklands is on top of the ladder, one point ahead of the Berrigan Curlews.
The next round will be played at Urana on Sunday.
Oaklands play Rand, Berrigan will play Finley and Jeriliderie take on Urana.
