Set to take place on Sunday, July 17, the Shepparton Swans’ home deck will become a hive of activity as the Youth Girls decider kicks off at noon before the Senior Women take to the field at 2.30pm.
The league also took the opportunity to announce Tatura Park, the host of its grand final in 2021, as the venue for preliminary final day, set to take place the weekend prior on Sunday, July 10.
Games will kick off at 10am with the two Youth Girls clashes, before Senior Women’s action begins at 1pm.
NCWL chair Chris Thomas said he was thrilled to be able to schedule the Youth Girls’ and Senior Women’s finals on the same day.
“It will be the first season in which both grades will be competing in a finals series on the same day and will be a fantastic showcase of the talent we have in the region,” Thomas said.
“Tatura Park was a fantastic host last year for our grand final and so we are looking forward to returning to the venue again this year.
“This will also be the first season we are hosting a final at John Riordan Oval (Princess Park) and we are looking forward to that.”
Following the finals series, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters will have a chance to celebrate season 2022 as the league hosts its presentation at the Peppermill Inn Hotel in Kialla on Friday, July 22.
As for which teams might feature on grand final day, in the Senior Women’s competition, Echuca sits well clear on top of the table, with Nathalia and Benalla rounding out the top three.
Meanwhile in the Youth Girls’ competition, Shepparton Swans are the team in prime position with a 9-1 record, with Moama and Shepparton United nipping at their heels.
