The former Australian Diamonds captain, World Cup and Commonwealth Games gold medallist visited the area as part of her No Apologies book tour providing a training clinic to senior and junior netballers.
The day was proudly coordinated by the Balldale Hotel, with Michele Booth telling the Free Press it was a great opportunity for country netballers who don’t often get the chance to meet elite Australian netballers.

The clinic was a long time coming for the young netballers after the event was postponed from July 2021 but according to netballer Rebecca Carroll it was well worth the wait.
“I had forgotten she was coming until recently and then I was very excited. It’s really incredible to be able to learn new skills from a high-profile player,” she said.
“These opportunities don’t come around very often, especially in the country, so it’s fantastic to have Sharni here.
“The skills we learn from her, we can use in the future at our training nights and on game day. It will help us grow as a club which is amazing. She’s a real inspiration to us all.”
Norder’s training sessions in Coreen were full of the same energy and enthusiasm she carried right through her prolific netball and AFLW career.
After the clinic Norder held a talk at the Balldale Hotel about her book No Apologies which discussed the highs and lows of netball career and the lessons she learned along the way.
She also squeezed in a refreshing dip on the Murray River in Corowa before heading home to Melbourne.
