While winter is typically a quieter time for Echuca and District Netball Association, there are still plenty of competitions for any netball fan to get excited about.

EDNA provides netball competition with a community focus, while also enabling players to advance to higher levels through various netball pathways.
For winter there are two main competitions that will be running: the senior women’s on Tuesday night and the mixed competition on Wednesday nights.
The senior women’s division is typically strong and that is the case again in 2025, with 20 teams hitting the court, while the mixed division still has team spots available.
A bit later into the season, the junior competition will begin on Saturday, June 22 and will have a four-week break in the middle of the season to avoid the remainder of the cold weather.
The club also runs a Net, Set, Go program which caters for the five-to seven-year-old age group as well as primary school students for Year 2-6.
The pinnacle of the season will be on Sunday, May 18 and Friday, May 30 when EDNA will host its Annual Association Tournament and Annual Primary School Tournament, respectively.

In 2024, more than 2000 people attended the Annual Association Tournament, with teams travelling from towns such as Swan Hill, Mildura and Bendigo to compete on the day.
EDNA president Beverley Monigiatti spoke about her excitement for winter and praised the EDNA committee for its consistent commitment to netball in the region.
“We are pretty excited for the season ahead, our senior women’s competition which always gets very strong numbers,” she said.
“We aren’t doing anything different than we have done in other years, it’s stayed pretty consistent.
“We have a good, solid process and committee that all put in the hard yards and do an impressive job.
“It’s perfect to get back into the swing of things again, I know I get bored without it, so it should be a fun season.”
