Brown said it was exciting to see new and old faces turn up for pre-season training and, while the junior teams are full, they’re always hunting for some dedicated senior players.
Meagan Lowry will lead the A-grade side.
‘‘It’s a great little club and we’re looking forward to growth,’’ Brown said.
‘‘For now, we’re really investing in our juniors — it’s important to keep them engaged because sport is a lifelong thing, whether on the court or volunteering.
‘‘If we can provide young players a good foundation from the start — for people to put themselves out there, that will be our job done.”
She hopes the revived atmosphere will create a sense of belonging and keep juniors playing once they graduate to seniors teams.
‘‘It feels like there’s a buzz around the club at the moment.’’
The netballers would love to see more people playing and helping out.
‘‘We love being competitive, but at end of day, it’s about giving everyone an opportunity to get involved,’’ she said.
Blighty is also getting involved in mental health by partnering with not-for-profit organisation Sport And Life Training (SALT) holding sessions.
The club’s positive energy has translated into these sessions, with more than 60 attendees at a recent SALT event.
