The Bulldogs were too good across four quarters for the injury depleted Tigers, with the home side running out convincing 12.14 (86) to 6.11 (47) victors.
It was a day of celebration for Strathmerton, with coach Tim Bramich celebrating his 200th game in charge of the club’s senior football side and both senior netball and football teams picked up wins.
Despite a gallant performance from the injury-impacted Tigers, the Bulldogs were simply too strong with Darcy Robinson performing well for the home side and slotting three goals.
Robinson was joined in the Bulldogs’ best players by Marcus Mcmillan and Simon Russell, while Pat Riordan, Matthew Hodge and Samuel Poole all played well for the Tigers.
The win sees Strathmerton sit in third spot on the ladder, while a difficult couple of weeks for Katamatite has seen its fall to sixth.
For Tocumwal it was a tricky week at the office, going down to Katunga by 47 points.
The Bloods were behind on the scoreboard at every change, with the Swans showing why they are in the top four with the big win.
For Yarroweyah, its reserves side fell to Katandra by 53 points.
The 10.14 (74) to 3.3 (21) defeat started even, with the Hoppers holding a two-point lead at the first break.
However from here the play was all Kats, with Katandra running out convincing winners.
In the a-grade netball competition, Katunga was too strong for Tocumwal, picking up a 52-26 win.
Meanwhile Strathmerton and Katamatite battled out an arm wrestle, with the Bulldogs taking out a nine goal win to move to second place on the ladder.
In the B-grade competition, Yarroweyah got over the line for its second win of the year, defeating Katandra 36-29.
