A-grade netball and senior and reserves football grand final medals were named after life members, while another long-time committee member joined the life member club at the league's season launch on Monday.
Brian Henderson was the first to be recognised with the senior football best-on-ground award now being known as the Brian Henderson Medal.
Henderson started his football journey playing thirds for Strathmerton in 1957 at the age of 11.
Before retiring in 1983, Henderson played 330 Murray Football League senior games, 65 thirds matches and 45 reserve contests.
He represented the Murray league 14 times across his career.
Henderson has been a committee member of the PDFNL for 49 years and has been on the league's board since 1995 and its vice-president since 2009.
He is also a life member of the league and Strathmerton Football Netball Club.
Deniliquin Rovers and league life member Michael Fleming will present the best-on-ground medal with his name on it in the reserves grand final.
Fleming, who still remains an active member of the Rovers, has held many positions during his time, including being the league's treasurer for the past 26 years.
Henderson and Fleming were also presented AFL Vic Country Service of Recognition Medals.
Katunga's Faye Cook was also recognised on the night, with the A-grade netball grand final best-on-court medal named in her honour.
Cook was the first life member of Katunga Netball Club and second life member of Picola Netball Association.
She retired from the PDFNL board in 2020.
The final award of the night was given to Deanne Einsporn, who was awarded life membership of the league.
Einsporn held the position of league secretary for 18 years between 1996 and 2014.
In other news, the league will follow the AFL's lead and include an extra member on the pine in this year's senior ranks to act as a medical substitute.
Along with three interchange players and the usual under-17 sub, a second substitute will be implemented at the wishes of the clubs of the competition.
This extra substitute must be born in 2003, and unlike the under-17 sub — which can come onto the field after half-time without replacing a player — is solely an injury substitute.
It is hoped that players who missed out on the opportunity to be introduced to the senior football environment of their clubs via the under-17 sub due to last year’s cancelled campaign will be able to be welcomed into the fold via this extra substitute position in 2021.
