In reality, it carries much more weight than meets the eye.
The Bears are indeed fourth, but sit four points off second-placed Waaia with two games in hand on the Bombers.
So, in the eyes of Tungamah coach Xavier Stevenson, it’s games like Saturday's which could change the landscape of how the Bears approach finals territory.
“With the ever-changing environment of COVID-19, it’s very important to bank wins when we can,” Stevenson said.
“We have a few really significant games going forward, so the next four or five weeks will be pretty telling in terms of cementing that top-four spot.”
Most recently the Bears came up trumps in a barnburner against Katandra, whereas Katunga approaches the 12th-round contest rested.
Stevenson is anticipating anything but a walk in the park at the Swans’ home ground, aware of Katunga’s capacity to test higher-placed opposition.
“Katunga are looking like they’re going fairly well at the moment,” he said.
“They’ve had some good wins and pushed some of the stronger teams, so we’re expecting them to be competitive.”
While respecting the opposition, Stevenson rattled off some of his own players who may dictate the game's outcome.
He noted full-forward Ash Saunders had been in pink touch and also praised youngster Nick Irvine for his disposal and decision-making in recent games.
● Katandra has the assignment of keeping Strathmerton — and swashbuckling forward Tim Looby — at bay.
Looby has a remarkable 49 goals to his name in 2021, spearheading a Bulldogs frontline which has been near-on impossible to stop this season.
Katandra sits eighth in comparison to first-placed Strathmerton and will need every inch of home advantage to salvage a result against the reigning premier.
Fresh off thrashing Rennie, Waaia is expected to squash the Hoppers once more with Yarroweyah the opponent this time around.
The Bombers have found form as the competition has progressed and head to Yarroweyah Recreation Reserve the heavy favourite after dishing Rennie out a 27-goal hiding last week.
Reading down the fixture list, Katamatite needs to produce the points against Picola United to remain in the top six, while Berrigan should push past Rennie at home.
Mathoura is presented with a golden opportunity for back-to-back wins as it hosts battling Blighty, one week after downing Yarroweyah on the road.
And lastly, Deniliquin Rovers and Tocumwal square off in a bottom-order clash, while Jerilderie has the bye.
