But that doesn’t mean Brennan Edgar’s passion for tennis - and the club that nurtured it - burns any dimmer than for the next person.
Instead, Brennan has turned his passion into a successful bid for the presidency of the Cobram Lawn Tennis Club.
In doing so, he’s continued a family tradition of club presidents stretching back to the 1940s.
After having helped organise a successful Labour Day Tournament, Brennan said he’s enjoyed every minute of his time in the role so far.
“I love this tennis club,” he said.
“It’s great for the community. Everyone on the committee is great - they’re good people to work with.”
Back in immediate wake of World War II, his grandfather, George Edgar, was the club’s first life member, and served as president from 1947-49.
George’s son, Peter, then took up the position in 1978-80.
Brennan said his dad was ‘pretty proud’ that someone in the family is continuing the tradition.
“I wanted to do something that they have been a part of,” Brennan said.
“My grandfather and dad were both very good players, and were a lot more involved in the tennis side.
“Dad was quite happy to see that I’d taken it on.”
One of the objectives Brennan hopes to achieve more than anything is to bring as many people to the club as possible.
It isn’t a simple task, however, with tennis, cricket, bowls - and even football preparations - jostling for calendar space over the summer.
But after the success of the recent Labour Day Tournament, Brennan was optimistic.
“I wanted to have a successful tournament, which it was. We were right up on numbers,” he said.

Both of Brennan’s sons, Izayah, 11, and Izahk, 10, have been inspired to one day take up the role and continue the Edgar legacy.
They’ve also got some big ideas about what they’d do to make the club even better.
If Izayah became president tomorrow, he said he would install floodlights, so the club can hold matches at night.
“I want to become president because [the club] has such a good committee, there’s so many nice people and the club is very welcoming,” Izayah said.
As for his brother, Izahk?
“I would help everybody and make it a better place,” he said.
