The under-18 North East Knights boys, who featured the Strikers’ Angus Cole, Echuca's Ethan Thompson and Lucas Kell and Mooroopna's Jack and Rhett Vaivers, finished ninth.
In the under-15 grades, the boys finished eighth and the girls sixth.
The Knights girls included Evie Galea, from Mooroopna, and the boys had Strikers’ Jye Berryman, Max Cole and Sam Holland as well as SYC's Liam Caiafa and Luke Greig.

The under-13 Knights boys, with Euroa-GVGS player Joel Hamill, Benalla's Zac Fennell and Strikers pair Mason Uniake and Nash Berryman, completed the tournament in sixth, as did the girls, who featured GVGS’ Emily Thomas, Mooroopna's Abigail Vaivars and Strikers players Emme Cole, Eloise Collins, Alexandra Druitt, who also plays for GVGS, and Isabella Robinson.
GVHA publicity and promotions officer Michael Van Dorsser said it was a successful event on and off the pitch.
“From the GVHA point of view, it was very successful,” Van Dorsser said.
“There were smiles on lots of people's faces and everyone I spoke to enjoyed the hospitality that Shepparton has to offer.”
Van Dorsser said the fact the two associations that make up the North East Knights were far apart made it difficult to compete against the Melbourne sides.
“They (the North East Knights teams) ran pretty much to where we expected them to run,” he said.
“It's always tough to get people from Albury and Shepparton together for training.
“When competing against teams from Melbourne, who live within 20 minutes of each other, it makes it tough to compete.”
