Sitting at 5-0, Echuca United Eagles are the latest side to fall to the Swans after a heavy defeat in round six.
Youth girls coach Leigh Findlay said a large contributor to their success had been the fact the club had kept a very similar group of girls together through a challenging past three years.
“What’s great is they’ve all played for a couple of years together now, just a couple of years ago it was almost like Auskick,” he said.
“Last year was really tough and there’s been a lot of improvement this year.”
Young guns Ellie Armstrong, Payten Johnston and Atong Dang have all made their mark this year, and could well be on the radar for an interleague call-up in the weeks to come.
“After every game I stand up and talk about how it was an even contribution from all across the board, they’re all performing really well together,” Findlay said.
“It’s a really good group of girls with a spread of ages from those that are in their final year, some 15 and 16-year-olds and some juniors.”
The Swans are developing a reputation for producing top-end talent, after sisters Tayissa and Madison Gray were invited to the AFLW Draft Combine this month, after a successful season in the Murray Bushrangers’ setup.
The Northern Country youth interleague fixture was postponed earlier this month and is now pencilled in for Sunday, June 19, with squads yet to be announced.
