Murray Netball League - All about the juniors for Numurkah

There is no sugar-coating the fact Numurkah's netball list is missing a few of the key cogs needed to be a premiership contender.

A fierce Murray Netball League A-grade competition awaits in 2021 as teams charge back onto the court after almost 18 months without netball, but the Blues will be focused on developing their next generation of stars.

“From that 18-21-year-old bracket all the way up to really 35+ we have a big gap in players, so it will definitely be a year of development,” Numurkah netball administrator Cat Elliott said.

“We had brand new courts constructed during lockdown, so our focus is to get out there and showcase them and our young talent.

“We're also really looking forward to getting back into community sport and getting as many people back involved in netball and around the club as possible.”

Although yet to announce an official A-grade coach at the time of writing, Elliott was excited to have the opportunity to fast-track the netball prowess of the club's budding talent.

“We're really keen to get back into it and get back onto the court,” she said.

“We'll get everyone back involved and have lots of young girls playing seniors for the first time.

“It will be great to shine a light on them and really make them the focus of the year.”
