Murray League junior rep netball teams announced

Local sides have dominated selection in the Murray League representative netball sides.

Announced on February 16, across the under-13, 15 and 17 sides, 22 of the 35 selections represent either Moama, Echuca United or Tongala.

The local influence was most pronounced in the under-15s, where eight Moama players are joined by one Echuca United and one Tongala selection in the 12-person squad.

It’s no surprise to see Moama dominating the junior rep ranks, with 15 total players across the three squads, after the Magpies won all three junior netball flags in the 2024 Murray League.

Players selected in the Murray League rep teams were chosen on the back of their performances in preliminary rep trials held over three weeks from November last year.

Now teams have been finalised, they will play in a number of lead-up tournaments before playing in the Netball Victoria Association Championships in Shepparton on May 25.

Under-17s - Amalie Pate and Olivia Thompson (Cobram); Chloe Moyle, Coby Morgan and Diaz Agg (Echuca United); Paige Gray (Finley); Miller Davies, Ava Richards and Indi Phillips (Moama); Iris Elliott (Mulwala) and Aysha Mitsch (Deni Rams).

Under-15s - Ada Kennedy (Cobram); Evee Hazelman (Echuca United); Summer Atkinson, Mia Wickham, Ruby Morgan, Lucy Smith, Tiana Knight, Addi Power, Abby McCarty and Evie Clarke (Moama); Zioni Garling-Mathyssen (Rumbalara); Isla White (Tongala).

Under-13s - Ella Carter (Cobram); Violet Agg and Emma Moyle (Echuca United); Chelsea Kennedy (Finley); Avah O'Farrell, Lexi Wright, Pippa Leeds and Saige Milner (Moama); Nancy Thomas and Rianna Ewert (Mulwala); Aroha Kautai and Sienna Vallender (Nathalia).
