MFNC president Matt Lake said the Academy provided a great opportunity for NSW junior players, with an individual development program to maximise skills, leadership qualities and continue their pathway to progression in AFL football.
“We have some great juniors from the Under-12 to Under-15 divisions of the Academy program this year,” he said.
“The Giants Academy is a great opportunity for junior development within our ranks, and something we are very excited to be part of again this year.”
The Giants Academy, in partnership with AFL NSW/ACT, sets out to identify, develop and foster elite athletes in NSW and the ACT.

Moama forms part of the Western Riverina team of players, who train together over a 15-week period and participate in match days against other Giants teams from across NSW.
“Our boys have been training hard and it paid off with some great performances as the Western Riverina boys played their second match-day games in Narrandera last week,” Lake said.
The program has another four weeks to go, with AFL Combine testing scheduled for August 7 at the Deniliquin Indoor Stadium. Individual player assessment reports are provided to each participant at the end of the program.
Regional championships will take place in Canberra in September for the top 48 players selected across each age group in the region. From these games, 24 players in each division will be selected to play the Super 24 Series against the Sydney Swans Academy in October.
“We congratulate our boys for their dedication and commitment as they pursue their football goals,” Lake said.
