The Eagles notched their third win of the season with a 54-21 win over the Blues in an emphatic return to form that sees them jump to ninth on the ladder.
“It was pretty satisfying for the girls and probably proved to everyone what we can actually do,” Eagles co-coach Jess Saunders said.
“It was just about consistency through the game. We grew on our goals per quarter throughout the match, which is something we haven’t really achieved so far in the season.”
Saunders said she couldn’t split plaudits for the performance but made special mention of the United back-court for its role in locking up the Blues’ attack.
“Everyone just did their job so well,” Saunders said.
“Tilly Keenan, Hayley Saville and Lauren Dawes are our defenders and it was really noticeable how many tips we got in the game. They were great.
“We were all stoked after the game.”
Victory now takes Echuca United’s record to 3-9 heading into the bye, three games shy of the MNL top six with six rounds to play.
The Eagles face the side directly above them on the ladder, Congupna, when the league resumes on Saturday, July 9.
