Goorambat 41 def Moyhu 36
The girls came out of the blocks a little slow with Moyhu taking a two-goal lead at quarter time. Credit to Moyhu, their pressure and accuracy was superb. Sarah Osborne and Amelia Gall led our attack in WA and C providing the side with plenty of opportunities to feed our goalies.
With a defensive change at quarter time we managed to create more turnovers with Nelle Cousins putting outstanding pressure on the Moyhu goalers, allowing us to come away with a tight five-goal win.

It was a beautiful sunny day at Moyhu and the girls were ready to continue their success after round one.
The game was tight at every quarter with the scoreboard changing many times throughout the game. The Bats mid courters ran had against a strong and physical Moyhu.
Carli Hogan showed her experience and control through the mid court to help feed to the pressured shooters. Defensive duo this week of Kelsey Moss and Nikki Wallace was strong all game with some great interceptions and rebounds to help keep the Bats in the contest.
Sophie Hammond and Aneiki Pierce combined well against tough Moyhu defenders tp keep the scoreboard ticking over. A few changes coming into the last help open the game up for the bats to come away with a seven-goal win in what was a fantastic team effort by all.

Goorambat won the toss and took the first centre pass, which then also meant keeping possession and scoring the first goal of the game. Off to a great start the Bats and Hoppers continued the first quarter scoring equally and moving the ball nicely. The attack of Abby Hammond and Bri Putt gave the shooters nice feeds, resulting in their accuracy.
A shift of events and some hard decisions left the Bats a little flat footed in the second quarter and Moyhu got quite a jump on them, although they fought back with defenders Kirby and Brooke adjusting and intercepting plenty.
Third quarter saw a more even showing, with the team working endlessly to crack the difference. Chelsea Cole showed great improvement along with Jord Hancock.
Although the fourth quarter saw some indifferences and some calls not going the Bats way, they held their heads high and played a great team game until the final siren.
Awards: Best on - Kirby Davis - Muscle Mend cash award, Bri Putt - Thursday night dinner award, Chelsea Cole - Bill-Bo-Pop, Erin Hernan - Early Bird Cafe award

The girls came out this week with a bit more understanding of the game. Having some new additions to our line up helped with court flow and confidence.
Strong support in the defence by Molly Martin and Indy Stovell, bringing the ball out and down court. Consistent pressure defensively and support offensively through the mid court from Charli Button helped with the girls confidence.
Throughout the game the girls kept their head up and supported each other with positive talk on court. Looking forward to developing more each week as a team.

The girls this week went out with new goals for themselves both individually and as a team.
It took a fair while for the girls to settle into the game only scoring one in the first half, but as the second half came around alongside a few positions changes the girls came out fighting, driving hard and chasing loose balls.
They found their feet and scored a quick three goals. The girls flowed well with some great ball movement down the court and in to score another two for the third quarter.
They came off at three-quarter time and made themselves a goal to reach eight goals for the game. Fourth quarter they again came out ready to go and they played well and communicated well with each other and scored two more goals to achieve the goal they had made for themselves.
In the coming weeks I hope they keep pushing each other and keep growing their goals into bigger ones. Keep up the great work team.
Awards: Best On: Pippa Martin - Hume Solar Canteen award, second: Meika Smith - Terry White Chemmart award, third: Elsie Cunneen - Spot 4 Icecream

A New Generation Takes the Court for Goorambat Football Netball Club
The 2025 season is shaping up to be a special one for Goorambat Football Netball Club, with three junior netball players taking to the court for the first time, following in the footsteps of their mothers.
Estelle Doig, Evie Ellis, and Alarna Button are all donning the Goorambat dress this season, marking a significant milestone in their lives and the club’s history.
These talented young players have grown up surrounded by the sport, watching their mums – Fiona Doig (Tolliday), Ally Ellis (O’Brien), and Michelle Button (Vance) – showcase their skills on the senior netball team.
The connection between the generations is clear, as the girls have long dreamed of one day joining the senior ranks and now, that dream has come true.
This season not only highlights the talent and dedication of these young players, but also the continued legacy of the Goorambat Football Netball Club, where passion for the sport is passed down through the generations.
For the girls and their mothers, it's a proud moment to see their family’s history woven into the fabric of the team, strengthening the bond between players, families, and the club.
The entire club is excited to see these new faces on the court, and the future of Goorambat Netball has never looked brighter.
