For Cassandra Millerick, winning multiple events at the Bowls Victoria Open isn’t a new experience, but the Moama bowler is thrilled to have repeated the feat in 2025.

“I'm feeling like winning two events again, it just seems very spectacular,” she said.
“It's hard enough trying to win one, let alone two.”
Millerick was successful both in the women’s pairs, and the mixed pairs, where she partnered with fiancé Kevin Anderson to take the title.
Despite seeming like a perfect pairing, the two don’t often get the opportunity to team up due to conflicting schedules.
“We don't normally play bowls together,” Millerick said.
“We've probably only played bowls two or three times together, but winning that one was pretty special for us, you always want to win something with your partner.”

While Anderson would also claim the men’s triples crown alongside Moama teammate Cameron Keenan, and Bendigo’s Luke Hoskin, Millerick’s pairing with Selina Goddard was successful in the women’s pairs for the second straight year.
The two overcame an 11-4 deficit in the final to eventually overrun opponents Nicole McKenzie and Kelly McKerihen with 15 shots in the final six ends to win 19-13.
“Because I played with Selena last year, I knew what her game plan was, and she knew mine,” Millerick said.
“We're pretty compatible, we're very easy going, so that helps as well.
“We don't let any stress or anything get to us, it's just ‘let's go out there, have fun, play some shots, and then let's see how far we can go’.”
Cassandra Millerick and Selina Goddard defended their women's pairs title from 2024.
Millerick, Anderson and Keenan’s success highlighted a strong overall tournament for Moama, who also had Matt Robertson as part of a runner-up trio in the triples, and Jacob Brighton runner-up in the under-18 open pairs.
Robertson also faced off with Millerick and Anderson in the mixed pairs semi, meaning three of four players in the state semi-final were Steamers players.
“Moama's getting around now, which is really good,” Millerick said.
“Everyone's starting to notice that Moama's on the board and getting players actually making quarter-finals, and semi-finals.
“It's good to see Moama shirts everywhere when you play.”

Echuca bowler Di Payne was also a semi-finalist at the Vic Open, defeated by Millerick and Goddard in the women’s pairs.
There is plenty more bowls on the horizon for locals, with Millerick headed to State Champions week this week, City vs Country coming up in April and the Australian Open in June.
