The Bulldogs prevailed 12-77 to 4-73, in a performance that will have many shortening their odds to take out the division one flag.
David Cartwright and his rink’s 33-23 triumph proved decisive at the end of the day.
Golf’s skips Kristine Wright (22-20) and Robert Betson (28-24) prevailed on their respective rinks to ensure Golf walked away with four points from the loss.
Despite the shock defeat, Golf remains firmly in top spot, while Tatura-Hill Top shifts into second.
Elsewhere, East Shepparton motored past Mooroopna Golf.
East handed the bottom-of-the-ladder outfit a 16-100 to 0-50 thrashing away from home.
The Eagles’ skip Wayne Gribble (42-11) enjoyed a sublime day out.
Kyabram jumped up into third spot on the ladder following its demolition job against Rushworth.
The Bombers claimed a 16-86 to 0-36 win.
Meanwhile, Seymour breezed past Shepparton Park by 27 shots.
The vital win for Seymour helps close the gap to the fourth-placed Parkers.
Around the grades, division two featured plenty of lopsided results.
The closest contest was at Seymour Bowls Club where the home side saluted over Avenel by 13 shots.
The points were shared between Seymour’s Garry Broderick and Avenel’s Noel Slater (20-20), while Broderick’s fellow skips Maureen Prudden (24-17) and Jan Wesselman (27-21) lifted the hosts over the line.
Kyabram got the job done against Tatura-Hill Top (16-81 to 0-63), Shepparton Golf pummelled Euroa (16-80 to 0-43) and Shepparton Park edged out Stanhope (16-78 to 0-49).
In division three, Tatura-Hill Top had reason to celebrate.
The Bulldogs fell over the line by seven shots against East Shepparton (2) to record their maiden win of the campaign.
Despite East’s Val Le Lievre securing a 27-15 rink win, the Bulldogs’ Bill Milner (22-18) and Michael Shay (32-17) did enough to deliver their side a memorable victory.
Ladder-leader East Shepparton (1) prevailed over Mooroopna Golf (14-78 to 2-55), Nagambie recorded a huge 51-shot win over Shepparton Park and Kyabram claimed the chocolates against Mooroopna (12-83 to 4-74).
In division four action, Numurkah blitzed Shepparton Golf 14-80 to 2-53.
Merrigum was too strong for Murchison (15-77 to 1-57) and East Shepparton cruised past Shepparton Park by 20 shots and with all three rink wins.
Tatura-Hill Top forfeited to Kyabram.
Lastly, Violet Town got over the line by six shots against Euroa in a tight contest in division five.
The Towners recorded a 12-56 to 2-50 triumph.
Colbinabbin edged out Avenel by five shots in a thriller at home and Dookie held on to second spot on the ladder following its 12-55 to 2-45 win over Rushworth.
