Mathoura travelled to Berrigan Recreation Reserve and were instantly in for a long day as the Saints kicked eight goals in the first quarter while the visitors managed just a sole behind.
Things got incrementally better for Mathoura on the attacking end of the ground as Maksym Eddy managed to kick a goal.
The second period was the Timbercutters’ best, only conceding five goals along with eight behinds, the lead sitting at 83 at the major break.
Unfortuantley for Mathoura, that single goal by Eddy would be the final scoring effort produced by them as the Saints kept hammering away at their 50.
A further six goals and five behinds were conceded as Berrigan’s Keith Tallent and Rory Bartlett had plenty of kicking practice.
With the lead at 128 with a quarter to play, there was not much Timbercutters seemed to be able to do against a potent Saints attack.
Another six goal stretch saw the Timbercutters essentially walked off the pitch, the final score was Berrigan 25.28 (178) to Mathoura 1.1 (7).
Tallent ended his day with a staggering 13 goals, while Bartlett walked away with five and Griffin Surrey chipped in with four.
In what must have been a tough loss for the Timbercutters, its best list consisted of Jayden Wright, Clinton John McNabb, Ethan Cobden, Logan Monro, Callan Scarr and Rex Taylor.
A week off will allow Mathoura to regroup ahead of a showdown with rivals Picola United.
