The A-grade Magpies entered the game on a three-game winning streak, and with just two wins separating third from seventh on the ladder, extending that streak to four would be crucial.
While Nathalia showed spirit, it wasn’t enough to get it over the line, as Moama roared home to take the victory 55-31.
Moama coach Jodie Lake was overjoyed with her troops, who consistently manage to exceed her expectations.
“Yeah, it was a really pleasing win,” she said.
“Dreary conditions made for an even start, but the girls never cease to amaze me how they can turn around and put the effort in when it’s asked of them.”
In the best: Moama wing attack Fallon Lieschke was one of the Magpies’ best players in the win.

The turnaround that Lake referenced occurred in the second quarter, as Moama was able to outmuscle the Purples and establish itself on top.
“Some really impressive defensive pressure saw a 10-goal turnaround in our favour in the second quarter, and the momentum just continued from there,” Lake said.
Eden Drennan continues to be a force inside the semi-circle, named as one of Moama’s best in the win, while Fallon Lieschke and Charlotte Sheldon were solid once again in the mid-court.

The Magpies sit fifth on the ladder following the win, one of three teams on nine wins, and a game ahead of Echuca United in sixth spot.
Moama still has a bye to come in two weeks, although it will be tough going before it has the week off.
The top two sides in Tongala and Deniliquin await over the next fortnight, in what will be a huge test for the Magpies which could prove to be season defining.
