Local talented basketballers Lochie Harvey and Jess Freeman have continued their success in the sport, this time with selection as emergency players for the Victoria Under 20 state teams.
Basketball Victoria announced the 2025 Victorian Under-20 and Ivor Burge State teams for the National Championships (NC) last week.
The championships will be held at Ballarat from January 27 – February 2, 2025.
After a period of trials, the teams were chosen from an exceptional group of elite athletes.
Jess and Lochie represented Victoria Navy earlier this year at the Basketball Australia Under-20 National Championships.
Both Lochie and Jess have been members of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association since they were 8 years old, starting their basketball journey playing in the Under 10 junior domestic competition before naturally progressing into playing for representative teams from Under 12 onward.
The National Championships are the pinnacle event for emerging athletes on a national stage as the teams compete to be crowned National Champion at the end of the tournament.
