Yarrawonga and Mulwala Football Netball Clubs are gearing up to record their first wins for the season this Easter weekend after all football teams of both clubs suffered losses in round one of the 2025 season.
To kickstart the Easter weekend, Mulwala will be hosting Congupna on Good Friday in what will be great games both on the field and court at Lonsdale Reserve.
Action kicks off with the fourths football at 9.15am and Under 11s netball at 9.45am before the senior grades take to the field and court at 2pm and 1.30pm respectively.
Supporters and spectators will also get the chance to donate to the Good Friday Appeal to assist children who have to spend time in the Royal Children's Hospital.
It will also be the traditional Easter Sunday clash for the Pigeons at Mulwala’s home ground of Lonsdale Reserve with the JC Lowe Oval to be the scene of part of the big Easter tennis weekend.
The Pigeons will be looking to atone for their round one loss when they face Wangaratta Magpies at 2pm with the A Grade to take to the court at 1pm.
All Pigeon football and netball action begins at the same time as usual home and away matches with a possible visit from the big bunny with his chocolates.
With the temperatures still set to be warm for this time of year, and an abundance of visitors to town, the Lions and Pigeons are gearing up for large crowds to witness a great Easter spectacle.
