The girls will now go on to trial for the netball Victoria Under 15 academy which is run throughout 2024.
Lucy (Tungamah FNC), Sophie (Rennie FNC), Milla (Mulwala FNC) and Mylah (Yarrawonga FNC) all represented Yarrawonga and District Netball association (YDNA) while Maisee (Mulwala FNC) played with the Murray League.
Mulwala’s Milla Fletcher (left) will also now go on to trial for the netball Victoria Under 15 academy.
Maisee and Mylah have also recently been selected in the Under 15 North East Zone team; the North East team will compete in the Victorian State titles tournament in October 2023.
Over the past seven years Yarrawonga and District Netball Association (YDNA) has offered a representative netball program which enables talented netballers to access Netball Victoria pathways.
As a relatively small association drawing from the surrounding district, the program has been very successful with many girls over the years being talent identified, selected in to the academy’s and teams winning local North East Zone championship and competing in state championships.
Lucy Judd from Tungamah was also talent identified.
Currently YDNA have 4 girls participating the Under 13 Bendigo Academy of sport (Mabel Cope, Sophie Coghill, Mylah Kennedy and Taylah Bigger) and one (Eva Cummins) in the Under 15 Netball Vic Academy. All as a result of successful talent ID in the 2022 Rep netball season.
