Held on the banks of the Barmah Lakes and Murray River, the competition took place from Saturday, Feburary 22 to Sunday, Feburary 23.
More than 190 entrants took to the water to reel in the biggest catch, with 35 Murray cod secured, the event was a successful outing.
The Kyabram team took out two of the event categories, Kyabram Anglers Club president Lynden Clark won the largest male cod with a 90cm whopper.
The club also won the Bidger Chalker team event with Clark, Charlie Clark, Franklin McNally and Jim Blackley amassing 209cm of cod combined.
For their efforts they received a fishing rod, $500 prizemoney and a perpetual trophy.
Kyabram Anglers Club as a solid standing in the community, with 118 current members and more than 700 followers on Facebook.
It is also in the process of updating club facilities and has a strong junior presence.
Club president Clark reflected on the event and highlighted the sense of community felt through competitions held like this across the region.
“All the club members who participated were rapt with the weekend, everyone had a good time,” he said.
“It is a very well run event and the Kyabram Anglers Club put a good contingent in there and we were well received.
“It was a great vibe, there were plenty of families out there and we’ve made some lifelong friends from attending every year, so it is always a nice time out there.”
