Ashley Hansen takes the reins as A-grade coach from Jacinta Jamison and Bree D’Andrea as the club looks to improve on a 2021 campaign that yielded four wins.
Maddi Albers makes her way to Avenel Recreation Reserve from Seymour in what is a major coup for the club, as numbers and spirits have been at an all time high in anticipation for what is set to be an exciting campaign.
“Everyone is very excited for the season, in terms of turnout to trials we had heaps, which was a nice surprise, and we have had some really great talent come to the club,” Hansen said.
“We have a really good mix of experience and young kids ready to go to the next level in the A-grade, while we have also recruited Maddi Albers from Seymour, who is an absolute star that is really agile, quick and doesn’t miss a shot, so we can’t wait to welcome her.”
With just two A-graders from last year set to return this year, Hansen has high hopes for her new-look team.
“I think the new-look team will bring some positive results, we have a really good, diverse team in terms of being able to be very flexible on the court with positioning, which is what we definitely need after last year, this year I feel we are well and truly covered,” she said.
“I am super confident and think we are going to have a great year.”
